Welcome to the Snowball Esports OPL Power Rankings for Split 2.
What a shake-up the weekend’s games were. Tectonic have finally picked up their first series win in the OPL in an impressive 2-0 over ORDER. Our panel this split consists of Snowball’s own Andrew Wray, Reece Perry, Callum Matthews and Swifty. New for power rankings this split is the Community slot. These are made up of 7 OPL fan’s personal power rankings, averaged together.

Chiefs look dominant while the Dire Wolves showed this week there may still be some growing pains to come. 3rd-7th are super difficult to read. This week really has highlighted the strengths of imports coming into the region and reducing the skill gap.
I’ve put MAMMOTH 3rd as losing to the chiefs isn’t really that big of a surprise and will still be competing with the rest of the competition in this crazy mid table race. ORDER at 7th seems crazy I know, but they did just get swept by a team that had probably forgotten what winning had felt like. The race in the middle of the pack come splits end could be the closest we’ve had in a long time as I find myself splitting hairs.

Contemplated submitting CHF 1, DW 2 and then rolling some dice for 3-7 but here we are.
MAMMOTH take 3rd due to having the most commanding win despite it being against the worst opponent and having the “best” loss. AV take fourth due to having a strong opponent in their loss and having a more impressive win than Legacy.
LGC vs TTC is tough for me but the overall strength of schedule gives Legacy the nod for me despite Legacy having the less impressive win. And once you muddle through all that you realise you’re at number 7 and you still haven’t put ORDER anywhere. And no matter how much you screw your face up you can’t put them over the team that just smacked them 2-0. So here they are.

A very difficult week for us power rankings panelists, in one of the more bizarre weeks we have seen out of the OPL over the year.
One may take one look at this list and question several of the teams positions. Why is ORDER 7th? How is Tectonic now 5th? To put it simply, power rankings are recency biased and due to this there have been drastic shifts from last weeks rankings.
For this week, I am only confident in the placings of The Chiefs, Avant and Bombers. Every other placement is closely contested.
Dire Wolves finds a narrow edge over MAMMOTH, largely due to strength of schedule, and it is difficult to place MAMMOTH higher after their 2-0 to The Chiefs.
In the lower half, Tectonic find themselves in their highest placing since the inception of the power rankings after the upset of the year defeating ORDER 2-0. It will be interesting to follow Tectonics trajectory over the rest of the split, having picked up their first victory in the OPL.
Legacy despite seemingly beginning to return to form, are punished after a game one loss to Bombers seeing them join ORDER in the bottom three.

Well what a shake-up this weekend was.
The Chiefs are a clear number one for me still, with the Dire Wolves looking dare I say mortal in both of their series so far this split. Avant with their new AD in particular have continued to impress me, making the Dire Wolves work for their win over the weekend.
MAMMOTH while not taking a game off Chiefs in their series looked close to, which is no mean feat considering how the Chiefs are playing. Legacy looked like they’ve regained some of their form from last split against the Bombers, although dropping game 1 sees them at 5.
Finally Tectonic now at last have a win on the board, and looked very good in their match against ORDER. With that series, they’re a lot closer in my mind to the rest of the OPL pack now and I look forward to watching them in the weeks to come when they get their full roster on-stage.
