Welcome to the Snowball Esports OPL Power Rankings for Split 2, Week Nine.
Our panel consists of Snowball’s own Andrew Wray, Reece Perry, Callum Matthews and Swifty. Unfortunately Reece wasn’t able to provide rankings this week, in his place is Snowball regular Isaac “Everin” McIntyre. New for power rankings this split is the Community slot. These are made up of our community panel’s individual personal power rankings, averaged together.

Top 3 is pretty much all but locked in seeming a clear cut above the rest has me longing for 2nd vs 3rd final of the gauntlet.
After I was relatively harsh on the Bombers in my prediction piece they’ve made me eat humble pie and could be taking the first series in the gauntlet after clinching their gauntlet spot.
With 2-0 being the only result that matters for Legacy, it’s a really big ask and they’ll be disappointed about their season, however it’s not quite over yet and there is still a small window for them to make a recovery.
Legacy aren’t the only casualty, while Avant had ambitions to drop the 5th place tag they’ve sadly found themselves out of playoff contention.

With just a week left the playoff picture is becoming clearer, and it’s also helping a lot with figuring out which teams are the best in the region. The feeling is that the top three is likely locked as we head into finals, but the middle of the rankings are a bit more muddled.
Bombers have made a big move up with their win on the weekend, and despite the big difference between their win/loss compared to the big three they’re beginning to feel more like a gauntlet team. I also almost put Tectonic into the seventh slot and think they are on equal footing with Avant Gaming at the moment. Interesting final match for them both considering their current levels.

The race for playoffs continues with Legacy and MAMMOTH fighting for their chance after Bombers secured their spot with a victory over MAMMOTH on the weekend.
Each of these teams are on close to equal footing. For this reason Bombers move into 4th and MAMMOTH move into 6th. While Legacy may hold the victory over Bombers in week 8, it is difficult to justify a rise in the rankings following a 2-0 defeat – even if it were to the Chiefs.

As keen as I am for next week’s Dire Wolves/ORDER showdown as an ORDER fan, you’re kidding yourself if you think all eyes aren’t on the MAMMOTH/Legacy clash.
Legacy need a 2-0 to get to the gauntlet, and MAMMOTH need only to win 1 game in that best of 3. It’s do or die time for these teams and this gauntlet is looking spicier and spicier.
