“In the first MMO I ever played, my account’s name was Bang. That stuck throughout high school but eventually when I decided to play League I wanted a change. I made my first IGN SwatheOfBang, because I liked the word Swathe… eventually people started calling me just Swathe, so I shortened it when I first entertained thoughts of playing competitively.”

OPL fans may recognise Ryan “Swathe” Gibbons from his time as the starting Jungler on Tectonic during split 1 of 2018. However, since early 2017, Swathe has also featured on the line-up of OCS teams Sin Academy, Abyss Academy and the Chiefs Academy. Most notably, he carried the Chiefs Academy to the playoffs of the 2018 OCS regular season where they overcame the then undefeated Intuition.

During the promotion series, Swathe turned to champions he had dominated with during the regular season and took down Tectonic. Swathe has proven that he deserves another chance to compete in the OPL, and his potential synergy with former Tectonic teammate Shok should not be overlooked.
